Centenary Methodist Church, Boston
Press Release
Centenary Methodist Church held a special day of celebration on Pentecost Sunday, May 15. The Celebration of Church Life began with worship on the Sunday morning at a service led by the minister, the Rev. Ian Banks, which included the Reception into Membership of 15 new members. Of those received into membership, Jim Holland, Kim-Leigh James, Polly Horstwood and Elizabeth Dawes, were received through confirmation. The worship, which was shared by members of the New Life Fellowship, was followed by a Bring and Share Lunch and then by the Annual Church Meeting at which the life of the church was reviewed and Stewards and Representatives to the Church Council were appointed.
On that day a new pulpit fall, made by members of the congregation, was installed depicting the wind and tongues of fire of the first Christian Pentecost.
